Berlin Terrorist Was Out on Suspended Sentence During Van Attack
The Lebanese–German Abdul Ballout, who ran a van into a crowd killing one and injuring 29 on Saturday, had been convicted of plotting a terror attack by a German court in May, but the judge suspended his 22-month sentence. He was also found guilty by a military court in Lebanon and was deported to Germany for inciting religious conflict.
