France will hold the first round of its next presidential election on 18 April 2027 and the run-off on 2 May, just days before Emmanuel Macron leaves office. The announcement came as investigators carried out new raids linked to National Rally, whose leader Jordan Bardella currently leads polls to succeed the outgoing president.
