Hungary’s Public Media CEO Resigns after Weeks of Pressure from PM Magyar

MTVA chief executive Dániel Papp has stepped down after weeks of pressure from Prime Minister Péter Magyar, who accused Hungary’s public media leadership of systematically promoting narratives favourable to Viktor Orbán’s government over the past 16 years. The resignation comes as the Tisza government prepares a comprehensive overhaul of the country’s public broadcasting system.
