Hungary Moves to Reimpose Ukrainian Agricultural Import Ban after Backlash
Hungarian Agriculture Minister Szabolcs Bóna announced plans on Thursday to rapidly reinstate restrictions on Ukrainian agricultural imports after the previous ban automatically expired with the end of Hungary’s state of emergency framework. Fidesz also moved quickly to submit its own legislative proposal, with parliamentary group leader Gergely Gulyás accusing the Tisza government of failing to extend protections for Hungarian farmers in time.
