Serbia opened a Chinese-backed humanoid robot factory in Šabac on 29 August, with President Vučić targeting more than 5,000 units a year and future exports to the EU. The project forms part of increasingly deep defence ties between Belgrade and Beijing, which could further complicate the country’s already stalled EU accession bid.
