Nintendo used its June 2026 Direct presentation to showcase an ambitious lineup of games for the Nintendo Switch 2, headlined by the long-awaited reveal of a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
The presentation closed with a brief teaser for the remake of the beloved Nintendo 64 classic, confirming that the game will launch exclusively on Switch 2 in 2026. Although Nintendo only showed a short glimpse of Link resting in his home, the announcement finally validated years of speculation surrounding one of gaming’s most influential titles.
Another major surprise came with the appearance of Kingdom Hearts 4. After years of silence, Square Enix revealed new gameplay footage and confirmed that the highly anticipated action RPG will launch on Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
While no release date was provided, the reveal marked one of the showcase’s biggest moments.
Square Enix also introduced Final Fantasy Resonance, a brand-new HD-2D turn-based RPG scheduled for release on 22 October 2026 across Switch 2, Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Nintendo’s first-party lineup received significant attention as well. Splatoon Raiders returned with a new gameplay trailer ahead of its 23 July launch, while a dedicated presentation for the game is planned for 30 June.
The company also announced Xenoblade Genesis, a completely new entry in the Xenoblade franchise set to arrive in 2027.
Fans of the series won’t have to wait that long for updated releases, however. Nintendo confirmed enhanced Switch 2 editions of the existing Xenoblade Chronicles games, with Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition available immediately and upgraded versions of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 arriving later this year.
The Direct featured several notable third-party announcements. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is heading to Switch 2 during the holiday season, while Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition launches on 23 June. Other major releases include Lies of P: Complete Edition on 6 August, Onimusha: Way of the Sword on 25 September, and Lords of the Fallen 2 later this year.
Minecraft is also receiving a dedicated Switch 2 version with visual improvements, enhanced lighting effects and world transfer support from the original Switch edition.
Nintendo unveiled Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a new entry in the sports franchise that returns players to Wuhu Island. The game launches exclusively on Switch 2 on 22 October and features 12 sports, including returning favourites such as bowling, golf and tennis alongside new activities like thumb wrestling and skateboarding.
Additional surprises included Big Walk from the creators of Untitled Goose Game, a cooperative adventure focused on communication and teamwork, and Orbitals, a new two-player co-op experience arriving on 3 September.
Anime and manga fans were treated to several announcements as well. Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton was revealed for 2026, while One Piece: Grand Gourmet introduces a restaurant management simulation starring the Straw Hat Crew. The game launches on 23 October across consoles, PC and mobile platforms.
Nintendo also showcased new content for existing titles, including Donkey Kong Bananza DLC, Pokémon Pokopia’s upcoming expansion pass, and Deltarune Chapter 5, which arrives as a free update on June 24.
Other notable reveals included Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, Rayman Legends Retold, Stellar Blade for Switch 2, and Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, a new expansion for Capcom’s fantasy RPG.
With a mixture of major first-party releases, long-awaited sequels, classic remakes and strong third-party support, Nintendo’s June 2026 Direct painted a clear picture of an increasingly crowded release calendar for Switch 2 owners through the remainder of 2026 and beyond.
