György Bakondi, chief homeland security adviser to the prime minister; prime ministerial commissioner; United Nations high commissioner for combatting international terrorism, and officially designated spokesman on matters related to homeland security; honorary associate professor at the National University of Public Service. Between 1991 and 1999, Dr Bakondi was the deputy commander of the National Border Guard Command, then between 2000–2002 and 2010–2015 he was the founding director general of the BM Directorate General for Disaster Management within the Ministry of the Interior. Between 2002 and 2010 he practised law. He has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, Middle Cross, and the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary, Middle Cross with Star. He has published numerous professional works, and has extensive teaching and lecturing experience, both in Hungary and abroad. Since 2015, he has been the prime minister’s chief homeland security adviser. His main professional areas are related to internal security, border protection, terrorism and cybersecurity. He graduated from the Kossuth Lajos Military College (1971–1975) and the Faculty of Law of József Attila University (1977–1982). He obtained his degree in law in 1997. He has participated in several international training courses in the United States, related to border control and the fight against terrorism.

Péter Hartner is a homeland security rapporteur alongside prime-ministerial commissioner Dr György Bakondi, an official at the National Directorate General for Disaster Management of the Ministry of the Interior, and a fire brigade captain. Between 2014 and 2019, he was the chief rapporteur for the International Department of the National Disaster Management Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior. In the course of his work, he has participated in a number of EU civil protection and international disaster relief training courses. In 2018, he was the organizer of the UN Kobo Toolbox international disaster management technical training course. He graduated from Zrínyi Miklós National Defence University, the Budapest University of Technology, and Corvinus University of Budapest.
