YouTuber Toby ‘Tobuscus’ Turner has uploaded a song provocatively titled Invader Scum to his YouTube channel and X page.
The song is about illegal aliens living in the United States, and Turner’s apparent support for deporting them. Mass deportations have been one of the agenda points of the second Trump administration.
Turner’s song features lyrics such as ‘English, do you speak it? If not, get the f*ck out’ (the opening line) or ‘We don’t want your culture, we don’t want your flags here’.
Despite the controversial content, the video on Turner’s X page has received 22,000 likes, 2,000 retweets, and around 1,000 comments since being posted on 17 June. The majority of comments and quote tweets about the original post seem to be positive reactions to the song.
On the Tobuscus YouTube channel, which still has over six million subscribers, the song got an additional 115,000 views and 13,000 likes to date.
Toby ‘Tobuscus’ Turner was a widely popular comedy YouTuber in the early 2010s, when the era of professional content creators on YouTube was in its infancy. However, in 2016, an ex-girlfriend of Turner accused him of sexual assault and emotional abuse, which led to a major loss of fans for the creator. Two of his female acquaintances corroborated his ex-partner’s accusations, but Turner has consistently denied them for over a decade.
However, right-wingers should be cautious about praising the former YouTube star for his stance on immigration.
In the days following the release of his song about mass deportations, he went on a rampage of odd, sexual, and violent posts on X, prompting concerns that Turner is having a mental health crisis.
