The Transatlantic Youth Summit was held in Budapest, Hungary on Sunday, 22 March. It brought together young leaders and political figures from more than 20 countries to discuss the most pressing issues facing Europe. The following remarks were delivered during the event’s opening session, which featured several distinguished speakers.

Vice Chair of Fidelitas Dóra Hidás stressed that Europe is at a pivotal moment, and its future will depend on whether nations can preserve their sovereignty, protect their borders, and stand up for peace.

Director of Foreign Affairs at Fidelitas Anna Lakó emphasized that ‘The responsibility of the younger generation is to recognize that the stakes of today’s political struggles extend far beyond the next four years—they will shape the next century. As a new world order unfolds before our eyes, and as the European Union faces a period of self-inflicted challenges, we need proactive young people who understand their political responsibility. The Hungarian national movement must also set an example for the European right in this regard.’

Among the speakers was András László, Member of the European Parliament, who noted that ‘patriotic forces are gaining strength across Europe,’ while also stressing the importance of prioritizing peace, strengthening border protection, and rebuilding transatlantic cooperation.
