The Hungarian border police and the military have apprehended 305 migrants over the past weekend – the National Police reported on Monday.
According to statistics published by the Police, authorities have apprehended 74 illegal immigrants on Friday, 124 on Saturday and 104 on Sunday inside Hungary’s borders. All but three migrants apprehended at the Romanian border had come through the southern border fence. The illegal aliens were transported back to the temporary migrant centre at the Serbian border.
During the course of the last week, 849 migrants were apprehended in total, which is a 15% increase from the week before, when authorities detained 735 people in total.
Simultaneously, 14 people were charged with the crime of human trafficking – the report noted.
