The city of Szeged will turn into Hungary’s hub of innovation and sustainable mobility on 14 September, when the E Street Parade brings some of the world’s most extreme electric race cars to the streets. According to organizers, the free public event will offer a hands-on look at the latest in electric mobility, from high-performance EVs to cutting-edge green transport technologies.
Szeged has rapidly emerged as one of Hungary’s leading centres for technology and sustainability. With its growing ecosystem of university-led research, electric vehicle development, and ambitious green initiatives, the city provides an ideal setting for the country’s premier electromobility event.
Visitors to the E Street Parade can expect a vibrant mix of exhibitions, test drives, professional talks, and live motorsport action. Alongside electric cars, motorcycles, and alternative-powered vehicles, the event will feature the Gokart Slalom Grand Prix, the debut race of a new motorsport discipline and a qualifying round for the junior category of the 2026 FIA Motorsport Games.
The event will also host prominent automotive experts and professional racers. Guests include former Formula 1 and Formula E driver Nick Heidfeld, as well as Sébastien Buemi, a four-time Le Mans winner and multiple champion in both Formula E and the World Endurance Championship.
Young visitors will not be left out either; children will have the chance to try electric go-karts and motorbikes in a safe, supervised setting.
The main exhibition and interactive programmes will take place in Szeged’s Széchenyi Square, while the more high-octane demonstrations and race events will unfold along the scenic Tisza riverbank.
The E Street Parade promises not just a thrilling celebration of electric speed and innovation, but a glimpse into the future of transportation, all with a focus on sustainability and community engagement.
