Hungary’s national weather service expects dry and sunny conditions for Saturday’s Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying session, while showers or thunderstorms may develop during Sunday’s race at the Hungaroring.
According to HungaroMet, Friday will bring a mix of sunshine and cumulus clouds, with a slight chance of brief afternoon showers. Northwesterly winds will become brisk and may strengthen temporarily during the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to range from around 12 degrees Celsius overnight to 24–25 degrees during the day.
Saturday’s qualifying session is forecast to take place in settled weather, with plenty of sunshine and only a few fair-weather clouds. No rainfall is expected, while southerly winds may become occasionally brisk. Temperatures are forecast to reach 27–28 degrees Celsius after an overnight low of around 11 degrees.
Conditions are expected to become more unsettled on Sunday as clouds move in from the west and southwest. HungaroMet said showers and isolated thunderstorms could develop during the afternoon and late afternoon, potentially affecting the race.
Southwesterly winds are expected to strengthen, with gusts reaching 45–50 kilometres per hour. Temperatures are forecast to rise from 15–16 degrees Celsius early in the morning to around 32 degrees during the afternoon.
