Hungary has launched an official government website dedicated to artificial intelligence at mihivatal.gov.hu, where users can find information about AI-related issues and submit complaints, Science and Technology Minister Zoltán Tanács announced on Facebook on Thursday.
In a video accompanying the announcement, Tanács said deepfake content and AI-generated images and videos can be used to damage businesses and individuals.
He noted that it is now possible to create convincing videos showing people saying or doing things they never actually said or did.
According to the minister, regulation is one of the key tools for addressing these risks. He pointed to the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), which requires AI-generated content to be clearly labelled.
Tanács said AI regulation increasingly affects everyday life and is designed to ensure that people can use the technology safely while benefiting from its potential.
He explained that the new website was created to answer questions about artificial intelligence and the rules governing its use.
The minister added that users can also file complaints through the portal if they believe they or others have been deceived, exploited or had their rights or interests violated through the use of artificial intelligence.
