Dylan Adams, an employee of the Minnesota Department of Human Services, made headlines last March after the very lenient punishment he got for keying six Tesla vehicles in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He only received a one-day suspension without pay from his state employer, who also determined that his actions violated the department’s code of ethics. Adams ended up facing no criminal charges, only having to take part in a criminal diversion programme. That is despite the fact that authorities claimed he caused $21,000 worth of damage to Tesla owners with his antics. Adams was ordered to pay restitution to the victims as well.
During the investigation, the perp admitted that his acts were politically motivated and that he did them in protest of Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s political views.
However, over a year later, it seems that things have only gotten better for Adams.
X user Unlimited L’s uploaded a video on Monday, 20 July, in which he claims that his agency has confirmed to him that Adams had been promoted to a temporary supervisor position that comes with a pay raise.
However, Adams’ LinkedIn page still lists him as working in the same position at the Minnesota Department of Human Services since August 2018.
